MY ROLE
I joined the project as the sole User Experience Designer. I designed new pages, streamlined user flows, conducted usability testing, and ensured that design decisions were communicated clearly to the development team.
ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION
This is the nation’s largest online racial justice organization, using the power of campaigns to fight for real change to create positive impact for Black people in America.
This campaign tracking tool streamlines the workflow of campaign teams, allowing much of the communication and administrative work involved in a campaign to happen in one place, rather than disparate systems. This is a one-of-its-kind application that gives campaigners time back to focus on what's most important - driving towards racial justice wins!

Update 1: Notifications integration
Through usability testing, we heard that people currently receive notifications about their work through ad-hoc mechanisms, such as someone messaging or emailing them that an artifact is ready for review.
Integrating notifications streamlined the process by having basic communications happen within the app itself.

Impact
User satisfaction and ease of task completion increased by 20% for the Tasks and Tactics sections. Users' communication is now streamlined through having notifications in one tool that provides email and in-app notifications. Next steps are to consider Slack integrations and to continue to test and improve the tool.

Update 2: Task creation and tracking
A campaigner completes many tasks as part of a campaign and many people are involved in all the steps. The tool needed an easy way for campaign teams to track the individual steps.

Update 3: Tactics and Requests Progress Tracking
Tactics are campaigners' main tools for a successful campaign. They are complicated and require involvement from multiple parties. The workflow of requesting assets and tracking tactic progress happens entirely within the app.
